Summer in the UK has arrived (even though it still seems to be raining every other day at the moment!) Temperatures are set to be record breaking during the next few summer months but a major downside to the beautiful weather is the humid clammy nights that can make it so much harder to get a good night's sleep.
Whilst we can blast a fan all night long, this can sometimes disrupt sleep so here are our top tips on how you can hopefully sleep better during the summer.
1.Create a restful space
Declutter your bedroom and treat it as your personal sanctuary. Before you go to bed, light a summer scented candle that will help you drift off to sleep and keep your bed linen and pyjamas light. Aery Living have created the perfect ‘Before sleep’ candle and 'Dream Catcher' candle with peaceful blends of lavender and cedar and what’s even better is that they are 100% vegan and use only cruelty-free materials so you can drift off knowing you are being kind to the planet at the same time.
2.Keep the light out
As the mornings get lighter and the sun starts to rise even earlier, the last thing you need is to be woken up by bright light shining through the blinds. Avoid being woken up by choosing a luxurious eye mask whilst you sleep. Elizabeth Scarlett has created an embroidered velvet sleep mask infused with Lavender to help you drift off. Trust us when we say that it’s so soft you won’t even realise you have it on.

3.Look after yourself whilst you sleep
Silk pillowcases are definitely paving the way for night time rituals and we can see why. They are not only cooler than cotton to sleep on but they also promote anti-aging and help to keep those frizzy loose hairs at bay. Worried your pillowcase won’t match your duvet? There is no need to panic with our full KITSCH range available in 6 different colours and designs.

4. Stay Calm
Getting frustrated because you're hot and can’t sleep sadly only generates more heat around your body and keeps you awake. We know it’s easily done and that’s why we would recommend using a facial spritz or pulse point roller. Paper Plane has created a roller dedicated to helping you drift off, infused with a soothing blend of natural oils, it has become one of our most loved bedtime rituals! The oils act as a trigger to help your mind relax and you will be deep in sleep before you know it.

5.Stay hydrated
During the hot months we all know how important it is to be hydrated and it seems obvious but drinking lots of water can help cool your body down. The recommended amount is 2 litres per day which seems like alot but it’s easier than you think. If you want to switch up your daily water intake why not use a beautiful jug throughout the day. We love the Bloomingville Lustre Gold Jug as it doesn’t only look good it’s also so easy to fill up with cold water, lemons and ice and will help you stay on top of your recommended intake.
